One of the real strengths of BIG is that we recognise student life is about much more than academic success, and we encourage our students to balance their work by participating in our wide range of exciting co-curricular activities. Our co-curricular programme offers a diverse range of activities which allows students to develop their skills, try new things and be creative by finding new ways of expressing themselves.
We offer a variety of activities both during lunch time and after school including the following:
With our close proximity to London, we take every opportunity to visit the wonderful museums, galleries and exhibitions that are on offer. Linking with the curriculum being studied at that time, our students take the train from West Wickham to London and have visited the Science Museum, Imperial War Museum, British Film Institute, Museum of London, IMAX Cinema, Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, London Zoo, Sky Studios, Barbican Theatre, Globe Theatre, Careers Fairs, guided walks, Velodrome, Wembley Stadium, Millennium Dome and many more places of interest.
Bromley Independent Grammar borders Kent and Surrey and they too have a great deal to offer such as Kent Life for Victorian history, Eagle Heights for biology and conservation, beaches for geography studies and Biggin Hill for World War II.
For fun, there are trips to theme parks, cinemas, Airsoft and Laser Fun.
The list is endless and we are constantly looking for more experiences for our students.
Each February, our students from years 7 to 11 attend a trip of 4 to 5 days to a place of interest linked to their studies.
Our students also have the opportunity to participate in the excursions offered by our sister schools within the Alpha Schools group and these include environmental studies in Iceland and skiing trips to Colorado and Switzerland.
Since the Senior School opened in 2006, we have taken students to the following cities.
